The Nine  
                                   Chapters on the Mathematical Art Contest      
                               (NCC)
                  
                  NCC is a contest, named after the  
                                   Chinese ancient classic book 
                  "The Nine Chapters on the Mathematical          
                           Art"  (wiki). Every     
                                November, since 2008, the Grand River Chinese 
                  School (GRCS)                   has offered NCC as an annual 
                  traditional 1 hour and 15 minute                   math 
                  contest for students of Grade 3 through Grade 10.         
                             NCC is a "warm-up" contest of major Canadian math 
                  contests of                   same grade levels, such as 
                  Thales,  Byron-Germain,                    
                  Fibonacci,  Pythagoras, Gauss, Pascal and Cayley          
                           Contests. 
                  
               
                      
                  
NCC is organized by 
                                    GRCS, sponsored by Canadian mathematical Society                   
                  (CMS), during 2009 to 2022, it was also by co-organized and sponsored by 
                  Confucius Institute in                   Waterloo. 
               
                      
                  
During 2008 to 2024, NCC has   
                                  tested 1304 participants, many of them further 
                  wrote various                   Canadian math contests, and 
                  they have been listed on honour                   rolls of 
                  those contests (by 2019) for 568 times, among them     
                                including 118                   times winning 
                  golden                   
                  standards, gold, silver and bronze medals, national or         
                            regional champion, national 
                                    or regional gold, silver or 
                  bronze awards, 
                  or perfect scores.
