The Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art Contest (NCC)

NCC is a contest, named after the Chinese ancient classic book "The Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art"  (wiki). Every November, since 2008, the Grand River Chinese School (GRCS) has offered NCC as an annual traditional 1 hour and 15 minute math contest for students of Grade 3 through Grade 10.  NCC is a "warm-up" contest of major Canadian math contests of same grade levels, such as Thales,  Byron-Germain,  Fibonacci,  Pythagoras, Gauss, Pascal and Cayley Contests.

NCC is organized by GRCS, sponsored by Canadian mathematical Society (CMS), during 2009 to 2022, it was also by
co-organized and sponsored by Confucius Institute in Waterloo.

During 2008 to 2023, NCC has tested 1231 participants, many of them further wrote various Canadian math contests, and they have been listed on honour rolls of those contests (by 2019) for 568
times, among them including 118 times winning golden standards, gold, silver and bronze medals, national or regional champion, national or regional gold, silver or bronze awards, or perfect scores.
