“The Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art” Contest
(NCC) is a math contest designed for students of Grades 3 to
10 as a warm-up for the Canadian Math Contests. The contest is
named after the Chinese ancient classic book "The Nine
Chapters on the Mathematical Art". NCC began in 2008. Many
attendees of NCC08 and NCC09 achieved distinctive honours in
Canadian Math Contests, among them
including:

Zhenle Cao, Fengyang Wang and Melinda Zhou, who were
listed on the Honour Roll of 2009 Pythagoras
Contest.

Tinghan Hu and Star Xu, who achieved perfect score of 150 in
the 2009 Gauss Contest.

Lanney Fumitsuki Wang, who won Gold
& 2nd place in Math Kangaroo International in
2009.

Rongzhao Li and Elbert Lai, who were listed
on the Honour Roll of 2010 Pascal
Contest.

Standard.

The Nine
Chapters on the Mathematical Art Contest received stronger
response this year. A total of 59 students wrote the contest,
some of them came from other cities. The web pages of NCC questions were
visited/downloaded over 1800 times to date since announcing
the NCC10. The NCC Problems Committee members and Problem Editors
worked hard for months to design the contest. They
