Chinese Folk Dance Class
Grand River Chinese School offers Chinese Folk Dance class for students of 4 years old and up. The guest teacher is Helen Hong.
Helen Hong is a dancer/choreographer. She started her dance training at age 4. Trained in dance by Beijing Dance Academy, China’s premier national dance institute, and served as an instructor / choreographer at the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts where she won several awards at national dance competitions. She had distinguished professional dance career in China. To preserve and promote Chinese performing arts and culture in a newly emerging and changing Canadian culture, Helen founded a professional studio of Chinese dance that offers Chinese folk and classical dance classes in London.
Grand River Chinese School invites Helen to offer this special learning opportunity for students in K-W. The classes consist of dance techniques, Chinese classical dance movements, Chinese folk dance forms. Students will also have practice opportunities in performances.
